Start sentences with subjects and verbs: A Writer’s Lesson #1

As I mentioned in my previous post, Writing on Writing, where you were able to read a bit more about my journey with writing and I hope you will learn too while I am learning too.
I am planning on writing posts with the goal of sharing lessons will be useful to both of us.
I am going to be a series of posts on writing to help me learn how to write better.
The plan is to share lessons (he calls them tools) through the book Writing Tools by Dr. Roy Peter Clark, which provides information about tools to help you become a better writer.
The first tool in Writing Tools: Begin sentences with subjects and verbs.
Here is an example before applying the tool:
As a new business owners, you have to deal with the many varying pieces in your business puzzle.
Here is an example after applying the tool:
New business owners handle many varying pieces in your business.

My thoughts on what I learned from using this tool:
I realize I write too long of sentences. This tool allows me to shorten my sentences and add more meaning in a more direct way.
