Carnival Of Healing - August 23rd

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Today, I have the honor of hosting the Carnival of Healing started by Phylameana Lila Desy.

I hope you all enjoy this collection of blog posts from some great bloggers. This carnival is a collection of blog posts that are related to healing, healthy living, self empowerment and spirituality.

Let’s get started:

Brandon presents What is Gynecomastia? posted at Hykra.com. As Brandon explains,”Gynecomastia is a condition that affects many men throughout the world. The term is derived from a Greek word meaning “woman-like breasts.” One thing I didn’t realize is how predominant this condition is…about 40% of men have it.
Clara Myers presents Bottled, Filtered, or Tap? posted at Mind Mart. One interesting thing I found out reading this article, although it makes sense but I didn’t realize it. Our bodies recirculate the toxins through our body if we don’t flush them out…which of course can lead to different ailments. so drink, drink, drink. This post is a great breakdown of the differences between the different types of water and pros and cons of each. Oh, and find out how much water you should be drinking with her free water calculator.
Stephen presents How to Skillfully Deal with Suffering in the World posted at Balanced Existence. What a powerful post! At first, it was a bit jolting, however, when I read on, the beautiful story that unfolded was one of pure life.
Joshua Seth presents Paul McKenna Owes Courtney Love An Apology posted at Joshua Seth Blog. Joshua discusses the ongoing obsession with women in today’s society to focus on weight (the number on the scale) instead of being healthy.
Louise Manning presents Strength or weakness? posted at The Human Imprint. She talks about the power of power and how we need to be careful in how we use it.
Weight Ladder / Rich Leverage presents How to Recover from an ACL Injury | Health, Fitness, Exercise, and Weight Loss (66 pounds in 17 weeks) posted at Weight Ladder. Good thorough advice for those who have injured their ACL. He also mentions that it is best to check with your doctor to find out which method is best for you. My mom had a torn ACL and did various exercises to help her heal from the injury.
Chris Edgar presents Who Were You Before Your Identity? posted at Purpose Power Coaching. Another great thought provoking post—keeping us in check about being sure we are staying focused on who we really are and staying true to that person.
Nick Yates presents Organic Vending: Effect of Friends on Weight posted at Organic Vending Machines by YoNaturals. Nick discusses how we eat with our friends or in groups. Great food for thought (I know a bit cheesy but it is true).

Dean Moyer of The Back Pain Blog examines the difference between anabolic steroids and corticosteroids in this latest installment in the series Sciatica and the Epidural, Part Three. In this post he attempts to answer several common questions concerning epidural injections. If you are suffering from back pain, or know of someone who is, you may wish to read this post by Dean.

I hope you have enjoyed this edition of the Carnival of Healing and hope you take the time to explore these blogs for some more fascinating content. Each one is different and amazing, thought provoking, inspiring, uplifting, full of meaning and deserve to be read.

Thank you Phylameana for allowing me to be a host for the Carnival of Healing.

This week I have some MORE wonderful blogs and a podcast for you to check out and discover for yourself (and possible add to your favorites!)

Just this morning I received an email regarding the Business Week Small Business Blog with posts like Barbie vs. Bratz (seems as if one of Mattel (Barbie) employees created the Bratz dolls while still under contract with Mattel—ouch!)
Another interesting post is the one about credit cards replacing business loans.
Lots of interesting things to look at this site (bookmark it!) such as the Managing IQ Blog.

The next blog I would like to showcase for you to check out is Katherine Reschke’s blog at Passions that Pay.
One of her most recent blog post was about Twitter in her post Social Media Tuesday: The Power of Twitter (one of my new favorite social media outlets).
Also Katherine has a weekly radio show on Blog Talk Radio called The Passion Project, where she has been discussing how our mindset can help or hinder our progress in our business. You can check it out here– The Passion Project

To continue with another exciting blog to share–> we will go to Kim Beasley’s Blog Business Tips Now, with this blog, I have to say there have been some wonderful posts in her Business Makeover Series, you will find yourself having comments to many if not all the posts. She covers Managing Conflict Resolution, Are you prepared with an Emergency Plan? and Have your branded your business?

Well, I will end this week with a newly found podcast and meeting with a wonderful lady– The Small Biz Guru, Melody Campbell called Get More Business. Last week her guest was Jeff Herring, The Article Marketing Guy, who discussed how writing articles and marketing the right way can be an additional advocate for your marketing efforts.

I truly hope you enjoy going to each of these blogs and finding gems for your business. Enjoy and please comment with feedback on these blogs (and podcasts).
