Summertime & Goals
Last Tuesday was the last day of school for my daughter. We were talking about what had occured during the year and all the things that she had learned. She was talking about her classes and what she learned over the course of the school year. She mentioned how proud she was of herself for accomplishing goals that were set in front of her for the year.
So, it got me thinking about the summer. I asked her, “So what do you plan on doing for summer?” Of course, her first response was, “I am going to relax from not having to do homework all the time. And I get a chance to sleep in more than I have for awhile.” I said, Yes, that will be nice. However, do you have any goals for yourself for the summer?”
I thought she was going to think I was being “pushy” or something during her summer break but I was curious to know if she wanted to ponder that. Within a minute or two, she turned to me and said, “well, you know me, I do like to learn so I don’t want to JUST sit and do NOTHING all summer. I would like to read some books, maybe practice some Spanish words, and continue learning guitar”.
Which of course, in turn got me thinking about my goals for the summer.
So here goes:
1) Complete my Speaker Forms Kit
2) Double my newsletter subscriber list
3) Conduct a teleseminar on the A B C’s of Online Promotion
4) Attend 2 local networking group meetings
I try to not make my goals list too long. I want to be realistic however make the list challenging enough to make it exciting for me when I accomplish the goals.
So, what do you have in terms of goals for this summer? Please share with me and we can support each other.
