What is the next thing you will find?

Wednesday Jun 25, 2008

I have to say, I really do enjoy working on the internet because you never know where you will find some great valuable or just neat information that makes you stop and think for a moment.
Here is how this journey began:
Today I was reading the “tweets” (the small posts on Twitter) and came across this one from Jenn Givler titled, “The best thing about niches I’ve found in a long time”. She talk about a post from her friend Gina and how Gina discusses about even though business owners (she is talking more specifically for healers) would like to be helping everyone with our products or services that it is better to help the amount of people we can successfully help at any given time. Because if we are helping too many, we lose the importance of what the meaning of helping others is….we exhaust ourselves and we begin to fade.

Well, after reading the post, I noticed that Jenn had written another post called “So Many Ideas…So little Time” in which she talks about her conversation with Marcia Francios about organization.

In Jenn’s post she was talking about this great organizational seminar Marcia is having in July called the Virtual Organising Seminar. You need to check it out (here) because she is going to help you organize your office DURING the seminar…how cool is that!

Then while looking at this page I noticed a tab on Marcia’s navigation bar labeled Meet Marcia. I read the beginning of the story and it was nice to know more about her. Then I read something I will be doing on my site today and that is 25 things I never get tired of. Great way to end an about page.

Add a “Things I never get tired of” piece to your website or blog “About Page”.

Are you creative? Use it to your advantage

Tuesday Jun 24, 2008

Last Friday, I had a pleasure of meeting some ladies whom I have communicated with via email however, most of them I haven’t heard their voice.

Well, one of these lovely ladies is Terri, The Pop Art Diva. I heard Terri’s voice last friday at the Boomer Diva Day event and there were a few things I truly enjoyed—
1) The confidence in her voice – She knows who she is and she really likes who she is—Yes, I could hear that over the web conference room
2) The passion in her voice – She enjoys what she does and shares the joy with others – she was talking about her art and showcased her many talents.

Today, Terri, twittered about her post on creativity and how it was featured on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch!

Terri mentions how those whom are creative have a hard time believing the value of their creativity —the art, music, painting, sculptures, etc.

To me, when you create something from scratch, you have created something unique and special…there is definitely value.

However, if you don’t value yourself, how can you value what you bring to others?

So, I believe it starts with yourself and how you feel about who you are and then it can expand to others around you.

Remember you have great value and thus your creativity and art has value.

Let me share 73 Bloggers to Watch in Summer 2008

Friday Jun 13, 2008

Heidi Richards posted 73 Bloggers to Watch in 2008 by Heidi Richards on her Virtual Women’s Day blog

So, I thought I would check out a few of these lovely blogs and share my thoughts:

Bad Ass Ideas by Samantha Warren – First of all, how could I resist with that title, right? But seriously, once I did get on the blog, she has some really neat stuff on there. Coming from her web designer perspective she has posts about events, resources, businesses and such that she is interested in but things I hadn’t even known about and I feel that is what blogging is about. Sharing things that mean something to you and you would like to share with others.

Customers Rock! by Becky Carroll- This is a topic near and dear to my heart (as it should be to everyone in business. Becky gives right tips and advice about customer service, retention and loyalty. Here is a great post I found on her blog What Makes Great Customer Service?

Business Golf Blog by Suzanne Woo – Now I am not a big fan of the game of golf (please don’t hit me with a 9 iron), however, I like the uniqueness of this idea and see how it would be of help for business owners. From what I do know of golf (my ex husband was engulfed in the game), it does take a tremendous amount of patience and strategy to make your game better. The game also demands persistence amount of consistency. Here is one of her blog post I liked Are You in Control on the Course

Real Words from a Real Writer by http://kathrynvercillo.com/blog/ Kathryn Vercillo. As a writer myself, I am interested (obviously!) in what others have to say about the written word. That is probably why I love to read as well.
Kathryn wrote this post,My writing on the web and it contains some great tidbits of information about different subjects. Right up my alley!

Heidi, thank you for sharing this list with us because you allowed me to add a few more blogs to my blogging community.
