3 Principles that will increase your chances for Business Success

Count your blessings and manifest positive energy

This is a lesson and action that you (home based entrepreneur) can do to actively visualize the blessings in your life. In May 2007, the University of Prosperity (teaching about Laws of Attraction) had granted me a free scholarship to one of their classes. The choice that I was given was to attend a class by one of the great teachers. My choices were between Tonya Ramsey (Self Esteem coach and owner of Life By Design)Kim Emerson (Law of Attraction Leader nicknamed Koda and owner of J Givler Coaching

The decision, while a difficult one, because each of these coaches offer effective coaching systems; I chose Kim’s class since the Laws of Attraction were fairly new to me.

During one of the first classes, Kim went through an exercise that really got my attention and she asked us to participate in doing this activity for the next week. She mentioned that we needed to write down the blessings we receive whether it be finding a penny on the ground to receiving a new client. She suggested to take a small memo pad and be sure to write down these blessings in the pad. The list, a reminder of the blessings in our lives, especially when things are not going as well as we may feel they should be going. We need to be reminded of all the blessings in our lives, because we tend to dwell on the negative in our lives and forget the positive too quickly.

Below is a little bit of my rather WONDERFULLY long BLESSED list for one of the weeks:
1) I found 24 cents in my closet while I was trying to look for paperwork for our accountant. When I mention that I had found 24 cents, I am sure most of you thought,”woohoo, so what you found less than a quarter - who cares?” Well, when I celebrate and am truly grateful for 24 cents, that means that I will be receiving more blessings to come

2) I received “just thinking about you” e-card from a friend I have not talked with in a few months. Know this was something small, however, that is just the VERY things that you need to be extremely appreciative of and feel that appreciation and express it back.
3) My mom & dad stopped by to see us unexpectedly to drop off some food they had wanted to share with us. It was another opportunity for us all to talk and enjoy each other’s company together.
4) I received some cookies from a friend in the mail (and they were delicious)
5) I received a email from my niece who is in college studying for her bachelors degree.
6) I was invited to be added as a friend on another blog
7) I received special gift from my brother
8) I was requested to be a part of new online networking group

I hope that you will try this easy but very effective tool that will help you become more positive in your business and personal life.

Overcome your Fears and Self Doubt

My friend, Jenn Givler, owner of J Givler Consulting wrote a post about Fear and what it can do to us if we let it. When you overcome your fears that are keeping you from experience those things that you want…then you can have the life (whether personal or professional) that you want.
This post brought up another point—overcoming self doubt. Sometimes I think we say we are scared of something because we lack the self confidence to do it, so we use fear as a cop out to not doing it. Have you ever thought…”well, that is just too hard for me to do” or “I am not going to be able to learn that”. I think that for some things, it may take us longer to learn how to do something, but that doesn’t mean we can’t learn it. Also, once we do learn it, we may just find out that we truly enjoy it.
I can use blogging for myself as a fear that I once had. I had a fear that I was going to get too much spam (because that is what I hear) and that the spam would mess up my site. But once I researched blogging and talked to my friends online, I found out that there were ways to minimize those things. Also, I found out over time…I truly enjoy blogging and it is a great way to meet other wonderful people on the internet.
So, don’t be afraid and if you don’t know how to do something…hey, you are on the internet….search for your answers and ask the people that you know questions. If you are afraid of something, stop and ask yourself where is the fear coming from and what is the reasoning behind it? Give yourself time to ask questions about the subject and research it.

Embrace Online Networking

When I first starting my journey online full time about 3 years ago while I was managing and co-owned my husband’s floor cleaning/restoration business, Morr Services, Inc., I was first really searching for a place that I could meet other successful women business owners. I have always received great strength and support when I worked in the corporate world, so I didn’t want to lose that. I searched on the net and one of the first places that I came across was theWECAI Network aka Women’s eCommerce Association International founded byHeidi Richards and it allowed me to begin my networking journey.

Here are a few “Teresa’s Tips” to remember:

*Don’t go into a networking event with selling your products or services- When you first start out in a new networking group, the most important thing to do is LISTEN. It is your time to focus on getting to know the others in the group.

*Don’t be shy – if you are asked what you do, be sure to have your 30 second intro about your company. Keep it brief but don’t let the opportunity pass by. This may seem like I am contradicting from one sentence to the other, however, it is the main focus and taking the opportunity IF it presents itself, but doing it in SMALL doses at first.

*Extend a helping hand – offer your help with a project or special event that the group may be doing. This is a great way to get to know others in a casual way.
